Technical Meeting and Draw Listings for Local Races Concluded for Macao International Dragon Boat Races 2020

Organized by the Sports Bureau and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China, and co-organized by the Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, the Macao International Dragon Boat Races 2020 will be held on 20, 21 and 25 June at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre. The Organizing Committee convened a technical meeting and drew listings for the races today (10 June) at the office of the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China.

A total of 108 teams will be participating in the Races this year, including 30 teams in the Open Category and 7 teams in the Women’s Category of the Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race (500 m), 46 teams in the Open Category and 13 teams in the Women’s Category of the Macao Small Dragon Boat Race (200 m), 7 teams for the Macao Public Entities Small Dragon Boat Race (200 m) and 5 teams for the Macao University Student Small Dragon Boat Race (200 m).

The Macao International Dragon Boat Races 2020 will host a dragon boat themed family carnival on 20 June, where the public can enjoy a fun-filled atmosphere through a variety of booth games and activities. A number of races such as the Macao Small Dragon Boat Race and the Macao Public Entities Small Dragon Boat Race will take place on 21 June and the Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race on 25 June, the day of the Dragon Boat Festival.

In compliance with anti-pandemic guidelines, this year the Organizing Committee will implement a series of preventive measures during the Races. During the preparation process, the Organising Committee will also pay close attention to the latest information on the pandemic and develop appropriate measures and arrangements for the event accordingly.
